Mary was born in Eureka Springs, Ark. Carroll County to parents Felix G. Burnett and Connie Burnett.
She married J.L. (Jay) Jenkins on Aug. 14, 1942. They had three sons and spent 58 years together before Jay passing in 1999.
She worked at St. Johns Hospital as well as Tulsa Tent and Awning. During World War II she worked for Douglas Aircraft, building planes and selling War Bonds. After moving with the family to Irving Texas in 1962 she became a licensed Beautician and started oil painting.
In 1972 she and Jay moved to Granbury TX. in Oak Trail Shores. There she organized a Homemakers Extension Club and help build the O.T.S. Community Center. She also volunteered at People Helping People for over 10 years, plus organizing Granbury Good Sam’s Club.
Mary is survived by her son Joe L. Jenkins, Sons Steve and David Jenkins are now deceased. She had two sisters Joada Teegarden and Louella Scates, both deceased. Two brothers Lavell Burnett and Leroy Burnett are deceased. ,
Mary had 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
