Matthew Ryan Hickam, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 27, 2021.

Matt was born November 06, 1984 to David Duane Hickam and Lorraine Rae (Bollerman) Hickam at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He moved to Fort Worth, Texas on August 5, 1988 and later to Saginaw, Texas where he was raised. Matt graduated from Boswell High School in Saginaw, Texas in 2003.
After graduation Matthew went back to Wichita Kansas to spend a little bit of time with his dad. He returned to Fort Worth, Texas in October 2004 where he began in his career in the manufacturing business at Romeo Engineering. Matthew attributed a lot of his success to Frank Romeo (The owner of Romeo Engineering Inc.) Frank saw talent in a very young man and encouraged him to excel in welding. Matt was at Romeo Engineering for 3 years and ventured on in his successful career to Anchor Fabrication for 11 years. Matt then went on to Sabre Industries to startup and lead the robotic automation vision. Matt’s success at Sabre came quick and was soon promoted to the robot leader for the utility division and on September 2021 to the Leader of Robotics/Robotics R&D for all divisions of Sabre Industries.
Matthew was survived by his son, Jackson Ryan Hickam; significant other, Jamie Beasley; parents, David Hickam, Lorraine Bollerman-McCarty and Bill W. McCarty; sisters, Rae Anne Hall (Michael), and Mandi McCarty (Jonathan Dickey); Nephews, Zane Hall and Caleb Dickey; and niece, Zoe Hall.
