Adam Paul Medley, Jr. was born in Salem, Missouri to Jessie and Paul Medley, Sr. on September 13, 1926. He had three sisters, Bernell, Eloise and Joanne who loved and helped guide him throughout their childhood. He worked many hours for many years in his father’s full-service gas station washing, filling and servicing all sorts of automobiles.
Upon graduation from high school, Paul joined the Navy and proudly served his country overseas during WWII. He then served in the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War. After discharge, he used the GI bill to attend Central Methodist College where he met and married the girl of his dreams, Beatrice Frazier. They were married for 65 years and took their two children, Valerie and Ronald, to many beautiful parts of the world. Life was packed full of opportunities for a ‘great teaching moment’.
Paul always had a keen sense of adventure and a positive outlook. He thrived on human interaction, from various company sales positions to educating both university and elementary students. He even served as a principal for a decade. Paul never failed to bring out the best in everyone with an incredible sense of joy, love and encouragement.
