GRANBURY — Alfred Franklin “Al” James, 86, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 in Glen Rose. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Alzheimer’s Association or Granbury First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Alfred was born Feb. 25, 1926 in Childress to Samuel J. and Velma Butler James. He married Altha Holder on Sept. 14, 1948 in Fort Worth. He graduated from T.C.U. in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Bovard Oil Well Supply Company after 10 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors: Wife, Altha James of Granbury; daughter, Patricia Lea and husband, Gerold W. Graham of Graham; sons, Bruce and wife, Lita James of Dallas and Paul and Deona James of Tomball; grandchildren, Patrick and Jordan Graham, Tara Lea Graham, Neil James, Collin James, Abbie and Brian Woodward, Jordan Lea James and Taylor Madison James; great-grandchildren, Finley Graham, Terese Woodward, Audrey Woodward, Jacob Woodward, Madison James and Brooklyn James; two nephews and a niece.
