Alline McKibben Lampley, 88, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Alline was born July 17, 1926, in Cedartown, Georgia, to Paschal and Jadie McKibben. During her high school years, she and her sister Helen worked at the local cotton gin. After graduating from Cedartown High School, her sister Helen married and moved to Fort Worth. Alline would visit her sister often and was eventually introduced to Doug Lampley, whom she would marry in 1955. Doug was in the Air Force when they married and due to his career, they were stationed in Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Hampshire, and many countries overseas. During this time, they would have three children, Pam, Wendall and Kenny. They would eventually settle in Fort Worth after Doug’s retirement from the Air Force at Carswell Air Force Base. Alline then went to work for Miller Truck Lines on the Northside where she retired in 1990. She then went to work for the city of Saginaw until her retirement in 2013. During her time at the city of Saginaw, Alline developed a love for country and western dance and playing penny slot machines. She often talked of the many good times she had on the dance floor and how, if she ever won the lottery or a big enough slot machine payout, she would curb and gutter the street her daughter and son-in-law lived on.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; and sons, Wendall and Kenny.
Alline is survived by her daughter, Pam Hunka and husband, Mark; grandsons, Jason Hunka, Nicholas Hunka and wife, Krystal, Jacob Hunka and wife, Dana, and Kenny Lampley; great-grandchildren, Madison, Isaac, Briley, Dillon and Kymber who is due any day.
