Ann was born March 3, 1925 in Lampasas to Gaither and Nettie Tweedle Patterson. She was a member of Mambrino Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.E. Chaney on September 1997; and siblings, Gaither Patterson, Marvin
