GRANBURY — Arthur L. “Happy” Hurley, 88, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Tolar Church of Christ. Burial: Tolar Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mr. Hurley was born May 12, 1926, in Stephenville, to Jesse Claud Hurley and Ada Beatrice Brooks Hurley. He had lived in Tolar since 1956 and was a member of Tolar Church of Christ. Happy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two. He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1986. He loved to fly and built his own airplane. He also enjoyed fixing things, farming and working cattle. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Claud Hurley II.
Survivors: Wife of 65 years, Faye Hurley of Granbury; son, John Hurley and wife, Linda, of Tolar; daughter, Cheryl Johnson and husband, David, of Lewisville; grandchildren and spouses, John Hurley, Jr. and Selina, James Johnson and Rachel, Ty Hurley, Michelle Johnson, Jesse Ragan and Joshua, Melissa Johnson; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Lorand Hurley and wife, Lucille, Wayne Hurley and wife, Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
