GRANBURY — Audie M. Armontrout, Jr., 86, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Granbury.
Service: Graveside services will be held at Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lake Granbury American Legion Post 491.
Mr. Armontrout was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Jack County, Texas, to Audie M. Armontrout, Sr. and Nora Rankin Armontrout. He married Betty Mabey in 1948 in England. Audie was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as a radio operator at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Granbury Church of Christ. He was a member of the American Legion, the Amatuer Hamm Radio Club and Sam’s Club. Preceding him in death were his son, Stephen Armontrout; sister, Stella Tucker; and brother, David Armontrout.
Survivors: Wife, Betty “Bett” Armontrout of Granbury; children, Michael Armontrout and wife, Shaun, Linda Shipka and husband, Mike, Elizabeth Chambers, David Armontrout and wife, Sarah; daughter-in-law, Janice Armontrout; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Margie Maria Ward; sister-in-law, Shirley Armontrout; and several nieces and nephews.
