Barbara Anne Smiddy, 94, of Granbury, passed on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Barbara was born on September 16, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to Lloyd and Eva Smiley. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1941 with her Bachelor’s degree. Art and interior design were a big part of her life. She participated in experimental studies to help others with blindness. She also enjoyed computers and swimming until her own eyesight was completely lost, about fifteen years ago.
Barbara moved from Long Island, New York to Granbury and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband William Agin, Sr. and her second husband William Edward Smiddy, her parents, and sister-in-law: Joan Lawson.
Barbara is survived by her children; William Agin, Jr. of Santa Rosa, California, Dick Agin and wife Janice of Plano, John Agin and wife Tami of Windsor, Colorado, and Linda Smiddy and husband Don of Granbury, grandchildren: Ashley Gill, Osha Levgin, Allison Buckingham, and Daniel Agin, and great-grandchildren: Jack Spangenberg, Caroline Spangenberg, Natalie Buckingham, Julia Buckingham, Victoria Agin and Elijah Levgin.
