FORT WORTH — Barbara “Gaga” Hansen, 86, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church of Granbury. Entombment: 3:30 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Fort Worth. Family will receive visitors from noon until service time Friday at the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Hansen was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Fort Worth to Herman F. and Laura Cook Baker. She married Thomas Richard Hansen, April 5, 1947, in McAllen. She was supportive of her husband in their oil services business, Tom Hansen Company, and in personal life.
Barbara was a member of First Christian Church of Granbury. She was proud to work as a volunteer for Harris Hospital Auxiliary. She and Tom raised their family in Odessa where she served the community through membership with the Junior League. They retired to deCordova Bend but spent much of their time traveling. They flew to other countries, cruised the oceans and drove their RV. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and friends. Barbara was known for her love of interior decorating and sense of style. She could be described as funny, generous, kind and thoughtful. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a daughter, Sally Hansen Moore.
Survivors: Sons, Gary Hansen and Scott Hansen; daughter, Laura Hansen; grandchildren, Kenneth Moore Jr., Melissa Howell and husband, Travis, Laurie Cline and husband, Willy, Jennifer Carpenter and husband, Carrick, Katie Seidler and husband, Brad, Sean Hansen and wife, Kandis, Dustin Hansen, David Thomas Blumberg; eight great-grandchildren; cousin, Donna “Bebe” Weaver; and other extended family she loved so dearly.
