Barbara Porter, 82, of Granbury passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Funeral: 11am. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with burial to follow at Granbury Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm. Friday, October 18, 2019 at Wiley Funeral Home.
Barbara was born August 18, 1937 in Houston, Texas to Norwood and Mabel Hatfield Kent. She was a dedicated legal secretary. She married Kenneth Porter on January 3, 1987 in Houston, Texas.
Barbara was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury where she was involved in various Bible Studies as well as in the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. She was an avid reader, had a great love for her grandchildren and was a people lover. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norwood and Mabel Kent; brother, Norman Kent; stepson, Blane Porter, and stepgrandson, James Wesley Porter.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 32 Years, Kenneth Porter; brothers, Norwood Kent and wife Lula and Steven Kent and wife Barbara; daughters, Melanie K. Merryman and her sons Victor Johnson and Thor Johnson, and LeAnne McMillen and her sons Matthew McMillen and Jacob McMillen; stepsons, Wayne Porter and wife Vickie and their son Jared Porter and wife Hannah; step great-grandchildren, Wesley Porter, Jason Porter and Jaxson Porter; stepson, Kelly Porter and wife Linda and their children Justin Porter, Casey Chateawerts and husband Brian, Tami and CJ; step great-grandchildren, Jesse, Cory, Kristen, Michael, Cameron, Zachary and Maverick; stepdaughter, DeAnn Carlson and husband Koby and their daughters, Shelby Crockett and husband Kyle, and Sheryl Riley and husband Wes; and stepdaughter-in-law, JoBeth Porter and her daughter Savannah.
