Barbara (B.J.) Jackson passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She will be inurned at Holly Hills Memorial Park at a later date.
B.J. was born on January 29, 1932 in Denver, Colorado to Lilly M. Strength Hamilton and Arthur Hamilton. She married Jimmy Lee Jackson, who preceded her in death on December 29, 1989. He truly was the love of her life and she missed him dearly.
B.J. was a grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She was so happy with each new notice she received. Everywhere she went she took the opportunity to proudly talk about them.
B.J. had a very full life. She was so funny! She was accepting, giving, and loving to all who found their way into her home. She was very much Mom to all. She enjoyed watching movies, quilting, sewing and crafts with her grandchildren.
B.J. was surrounded by neighbors that became her family. She loved them and they deeply miss her. They were always there to listen and care for her.
B.J. owned and drove a Harley in her younger days when she lived in California. She took a ride around town in January with her son-in-law Russell Jennings. She said it was a dream come true. She also loved watching her son-in-law that passed away in 2008, Chuck Vallone #83 race cars when she lived in Arizona.
B.J. was a store manager at HandyMan Hardware in Granbury and she loved working there. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, one at birth and one at the age of 22 in a car accident, Robert LaVar Jackson.
B.J. is survived by her children: Kathy Jackson Chapasko, Marylou Jackson Bellefeville, Robert Martin Jackson, Susan Leslie Jackso n, Donna Jackson Hobbs, LeJean Jackson Vallone, Jeri Zurcher Borrego, Joy Ann Jones, George LeLand Thornton, and Peggy Jean Wesson.
