GRANBURY — Betty Hodges, 83, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at her Granbury residence.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Granbury First Baptist Church. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Betty was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Potosi, Texas, to Eargle and Grace Jones Parker. She married Gaston Glen Hodges, Nov. 14, 1947, in Comanche. Betty was a graduate of Comanche High School, attended Howard Payne University and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University. She taught school in the Granbury ISD for 27 years. She had been a member of Granbury First Baptist Church since 1953 where she was very involved in the activities. Betty loved basketball and baseball, enjoyed blue grass music and traveling in Colorado. But her favorite thing was spoiling her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Bill Parker and Bob Parker, and her twin sister, Sue Ormsby.
Survivors: Husband of 64 years, Glen Hodges; sons and daughters-in-law, James and SuLin Hodges, Jerry and Susan Hodges, Barry and Debbie Hodges; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters and spouses, Jack and Betty Parker, Janice Simpson, Clarice Goforth, Virginia and Weldon Turner; and brother-in-law, Odell Ormsby.
