Betty Stoffel Wimberly, 93, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 in Granbury. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at Wiley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley Boy’s Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas, 78174, www.calfarley.org.
Betty was born Jan. 31, 1924 in Farrell, PA to A.J. and Estella Mae Redfoot Stoffel.
She worked for Western Union right out of high school sending teletype during the WWII war effort and later as Relief Manager. Betty lived all over South Texas in her early years. Later, she was employed at Sam Houston State University Criminal Justice Center in Huntsville, TX as Accounting and Continuing Education Event Coordinator. She enjoyed travelling, family activities, laughing and having fun. Betty was active in the First United Methodist in Huntsville & Muleshoe.
She was preceded in death by Jerry White (son-in-law); Moriah (great granddaughter); two brothers Albert and Teddy, and a sister Harriet.
Survivors include: Son, Billy Wimberly & wife, Connie; daughter, Brenda White; grandsons, Billy & Rashelle Wimberly, Timothy & Mary-Kathryn Wimberly and Dylan White; great grandchildren, Will, Connor, Audrey, Luke, Wheatly and Karis; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
