He enjoyed building and creating, he built a custom-made bed for his wife and a professional grade, 25-foot-tall playhouse with a deck, slide and a picnic area underneath. He loved playing his guitar and singing old country songs. John Wayne and Johnny cash were his idols. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
His career included; interior design for Lear Jet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Several years later he secured a job at the Florida East Coast railroad in the position of Conductor. In 1976, he and his family relocated to Pueblo, Colorado to work in the position of locomotive engineer at the Transportation Test Center. In 1991 he and his wife Judy relocated to Dallas for the position in Quality Control for Dart Bus System in Dallas, where he retired and moved to Granbury. Lastly, he worked part-time at Sport Aviation in Granbury.
During the Covid crises, he counseled and encouraged those who were ill, afraid and missing their loved ones while he, himself was suffering and feeling the same as the others.
