Billie Ruth (West) Ice, life-long resident of Somervell County, passed away January 28, 2020 in Glen Rose, Texas at the age of 91.

Billie Ruth was born December 10, 1928 to Murray and Ruby West.  She was one of seven children. Billie Ruth married Fain Ice and together they raised five children:  Benny, Patsy, Jerry, Lanny and Gary.

For Many years Billie Ruth worked to meet the needs of teachers, students and staff at Glen Rose Elementary School.  She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables to share with her family.  She also looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren.

Billie Ruth was preceded in death by her husband:  Fain Ice; parents:  Murray and Ruby West; brothers:  Alvin, Carl, J.C., Lynwood; sister:  Mary; children: Patsy, Larry and infant son Keith R.

She is survived by her sons:  Benny and wife Peggy, Jerry and wife Donna, Gary and wife Christy; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister:  Neva Smoot and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., January 31, 2020 at Nancy Smith Cemetery; Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 31, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose, Texas.

The family would like to thank Cherokee Rose Nursing Home for the loving care they gave Billie Ruth.
