Billie June Cheek, 90, of Granbury, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, September 30, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Acton Cemetery, Visitation: 10:00 AM until service time, Monday, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Billie was born on June 1, 1929 in Winnsboro, Texas to Billy and Reba Harris. She received her Master’s degree in education from Texas Christian University in 1978 and made her career as a special education teacher with FWISD and retired after nearly 40 years of dedicated service.
She loved cooking, knitting, and crocheting. She was the queen of home economics at Texas Wesleyan College, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in 1950. She worked at Reba’s Café in Winnsboro, which was owned by her mother and was a member of Acton United Methodist Church.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband: Charles “Chicken: Raye Cheek in 1997, son: Charles Raye Cheek II, her parents and granddaughter: Cassidy Ann Cheek.
Billie is survived by her sons: Randall Cheek and Tony Cheek, grandchildren: John Henry Cheek and wife Cori, Thomas Randall Cheek and wife Lindsay, Kimberly Zoeanna Cheek, Travis Ryan Cheek and wife Amanda, Cody Cheek and his wife Heather, Amy Cheek, great-grandchildren: Daniel and Priscilla, JuJu, Cali and Cora, brother: Chuck Harris and wife Eddie, daughter-in-law: Debbie Cheek and numerous nieces and nephews.
