Pete, age 64, passed away at Harris downtown from complications due to COVID 19, a very serious illness.
The family asks you to lift up prayers for those who remain on the COVID floor; the doctors and nurses caring for them, and especially Michele, his personal nurse. Please donate plasma if you have recovered from this illness yourself as this is lifesaving. Please know COVID is real, can take you away from your loved ones and leave them devastated. Wear your mask, social distance, and wash your hands.
Pete, a hometown boy, grew up a very proud sixth generation Acton man. He graduated Granbury High School in 1974. He went on to get his business degree from North Texas in Denton. He finally caught his sweetheart from Godley, Molly Smelley James. They have two remarkable sons Joshua and Justin James. Pete was the owner of Buzzard Roost Xcavation, BRX, a business he started from the ground up and ran for 27 years. He provided jobs and work for anyone who was willing to show up early and get their hands dirty. He was always a loyal boss if you were a loyal employee. After a week of work, you received your animal nickname and you knew you would have a job as long as you wanted. Pete decided to venture on to a new career five years ago and get his real estate license. He made a successful name for himself as the James Gang Real Estate Group, first joining forces with Keller Williams Team and currently Century 21. He has worked very hard over the past few years earning his Broker’s License. His work ethic, outgoing personality, never-met-a-stranger attitude was perfect for real estate as a career. If you think those have been his only jobs, think again. A workaholic, just like his Dad, Pete and his father ran a cattle operation. He had a hay operation with his best friend, David Durant, and put in many hours with a mowing crew – all this while holding down his regular jobs.
Pete has given back to his community and the children of this community all of his life. We ask in lieu of flowers please support one of the following groups:
