Billy Dean Green, 74, of Granbury, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Graveside service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017, Holly Hills Memorial Park, Visitation: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hood County Cancer Care Service.
Billy was born on April 16, 1943 in Thorp Spring, Texas to Lee and Zada Green. He loved his family and cherished the times spent with his grandchildren. He had a generous spirit and a good sense of humor. He was active in his community and was the first of three generations of Granbury volunteer firefighters. He was a nature lover, who loved sitting on the porch and feeding his pet chicken. Billy invented “Billy Burgers” and the Hootnanny. Billy was preceded in death by father: Lee “Buck” Green, mother: Zada Green, brothers: Kenneth Green, Bobby Green, Richard Green and Benny Earl Green and sisters: Juanita Moore and Jean Parker.
Billy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Green, sons: Terry Green and wife Susan, Red Green and wife Crystal, Tom Green and wife Jada, daughters: Trena Lunsford and husband Johnny, Christy Rouse and husband Will, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother: Jarvis Britt, sister: Dorothy Stewart, sister-in-laws: Betty Green and Jeanetta Green, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
