Bob Thompson, 82, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 19, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Graveside service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lie in State: Friday, December 18, 2020, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Bob was born on March 31, 1938 in Rockingham, North Carolina to Lacy and Inez Thompson. He married Janice Guyton on June 19, 1965 in San Diego, California. He loved playing games with his family and he cherished time spent with them.
Bob was loyal and patriotic. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from TXU Electric Company where he worked as a procurement specialist.
Bob was a Christian man, who loved going to his church, Church of God. He was a Bible scholar and was very involved in ministries. He loved music especially gospel.
Bob loved being around people. He was an avid reader and he loved cooking and baking pies. He loved travelling and cruising all around the world. He also loved dogs and all kinds of animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother: Danny Thompson.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Janice Thompson, daughter: Sylvia Thompson Lockridge and husband Jody, sisters: Donna Almond and husband Larry, and Alice Smith and husband Pete, brother: Richard Thompson and wife Penny, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
