Bobby (Bob) Reece Howard, 89, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 in Granbury.
Memorial service: 11 A.M. Monday, September 11, 2017, at Acton United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch if you wish.
Bob was born September 28, 1927 in Nocona, TX to Clyde and Pauline Howard. He coached throughout the state of Texas and influenced hundreds, if not thousands, of young men and women in a positive way as a coach and an educator. To be loved, well respected and make a good and positive contribution during our lives is about the most any of us can ask. His personal philosophy of life that he exemplified through the way he coached was “winning isn’t everything – making the effort to win is.” One of the highlights of his life was being inducted into the Boyd ISD Hall of Fame. After he retired as an educator, he became quite active as a rancher and was associated with the Beefmasters Breeders United Association until he moved to Granbury. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Pat Howard.
