Brenda McMurtray, 72, mother, Mamie, and dear friend to all passed away on January 1, 2022.
A celebration of life will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. on January 27, 2022 at National Hall Lodge 3316 Roberts Cut Off Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76114 and a memorial service will start at 7:00 pm.
Brenda was born on January 27, 1949, the youngest of three daughters to JD and Mary Keeney in Santa Anna, TX. She grew up in River Oaks, graduate of Castleberry High School. She was a long-time resident of Lake Worth where she raised her daughters and lived for majority of her life before retiring in Azle, TX.
Brenda was very active in the Lake Worth community. Her passions were her family and friends. Her home was always open and welcome to old and new friends. She never met a stranger and always made you feel loved.
Brenda had an amazing heart and boisterous personality. There wasn’t much she wouldn’t try at least once. And if you didn’t know what she was thinking, give her five minutes, you’d quickly find out. Brenda was a hard worker and very active person. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and traveling.
In her retirement, the most important thing to her was being there for all of her grandchildren and the activities they were doing at the time. She loved going to see the kid’s baseball games, rodeos, or swim meets. You could always hear her over most in the crowd.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, DeAndra Wyatt and Shanna Peninger; Son-in-Law Wesley Wyatt; Grandchildren, Katelyn Peninger, Seth Peninger, Gavin Peninger and Westin Wyatt; Sister, Linda Butler.
Brenda will be remembered for her infectious laugh, wonderful sense of humor, along with her dedication to her family. She was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all that knew her. She will be dearly missed
