Carl E. Pappas, 52, went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, April 29, 2012.
Memorial service: 6 p.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
Carl was born May 13, 1959, in Sherman and spent most of his life in Azle. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from Azle High School in 1977. He served his country both domestically and internationally.
Carl spent most of his working life operating heavy machinery to help build much of the infrastructure of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He was an active member of the International Engineer Operators Union.
He was an avid gunsmith and loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He also enjoyed collecting arrowheads. While he enjoyed many outdoor activities, spending time with his family was the most important to him.
Survivors include his parents, Tony and Janet Pappas of Azle; sister, Debbie Crawford of Fort Worth; nephews, Chad and Clint Crawford of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
