Carl Oscar Mitten

Carl Oscar Mitten made his arrival on August 4, 1942, in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He met his Heavenly Father on June 7, 2023. Carl grew up in a loving home in Merchantville, New Jersey surrounded by his parents Carl and Isabelle and sisters Isabelle and Peggy.

Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins were numerous in the Mitten household. Carl made his way to Texas in 1975 where he became the founding club manager at Pecan Plantation Country Club. In 1989 he met his wife Liz while working at Pecan Plantation Country Club. They were married in 2002. Carl is survived by his wife Liz, son Ken of North Carolina, daughter Sandy of North Carolina, son Rick of New York, son Wesley of Granbury, Tx, daughter Anna of Granbury, TX, daughter Tiffany of Alvarado, TX and son Michael of Saginaw, TX. He is also survived by his sister Peggy, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, sister Isabelle and cherished son Carl Mitten, III.

Visitation is scheduled 3-5 pm, Thursday, June 8 at Wiley Funeral Home.  A private funeral and celebration of life will be held in Brownwood on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
