Carol Ann Cohen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home.
Celebration of Life: 4 p.m. Wednesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel with a visitation to follow from 5 to 7 p.m.
Carol Ann Cohen was born December 22, 1949 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England to the late John and Eileen Hunt Collins.
Carol met her husband, Don, in 1965, while he was stationed in RAF Chicksands serving in the US Air Force.
Their love quickly grew and were married in 1967. Together, Carol and Don, served the US Air Force for over 26 years, taking advantage of the travel opportunities that came with this lifestyle. She also worked for and retired from the FAA in 2016 after 28 years. She took much pride and satisfaction from her job.
From the start, Carol and Don had a passion for travel, and this only grew once they retired and starting cruising. One of Carol’s favorite places was Ephesus, Turkey, a beautiful and spiritual land which resonated with her passion for life.
Carol had a knack for making everyone feel special and welcome. She was a self-taught chef and could always be found in the kitchen putting her love into the special meals she served.
Carol was a proud mum to her sons, Matthew and Paul, and an adoring grandmother to her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Home was a very special place for Carol. Home was where she was surrounded by her keepsakes from many years of traveling and where she enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants. And of course, home was Carol taking care of, and entertaining, her friends and family.
Carol was the matriarch of the family, the caretaker, and person that kept it all together. Carol will be sorely missed by all of those who were blessed to have known her.
