Cecil Doyle Evans I, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016, in Granbury, Texas.

Cecil was born on February 25, 1930 at Union 6 miles West of Snyder, Texas in Scurry County to William Evans and Nannie Brief Eaton. He grew up in Hermleigh, Texas and graduated from Hermleigh High School in 1947. From there he went to Fort Worth and attend Durham’ Business Collage and worked as a circulation manager for the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Cecil married his beloved wife, Mary, who passed away on August 23, 2000. He was a member of Mambrino Baptist Church where he faithfully served for many years. After he retired he moved to Granbury. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, brothers William Evans and John Reginald Evans, sisters Iris Neil Harlen and Francis Roth.
Survivors: Children: Amy Miller (Rick) of Fort Worth, TX; Cecil Evans II (Luella) of Granbury, TX; Caren Evans of Clearwater, Florida; Carl Evans of Clearwater, Florida, Jim David Smith of Ft. Worth, TX Gary Smith (Becky) of Sacramento, California; and Alan Smith of Fort Worth, TX; 18 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and sister, Mildred Hachfield of Lorena, TX; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
