Charla Kay Wooten

Charla Kay Wooten, 64, of Ozona and Ft. Worth, TX, left us on March 31, 2020 due to natural causes associated with small-cell cancer. Our beloved sister received her K-12 education through DeLeon, Grand Prairie, and Birdville school districts. Her life encompassed a broad spectrum. Upon graduation, Charla began working in fleet management at Fred Oakley Motors in Dallas. In 1979, she managed a Pizza Inn franchise located in Nacodoches and Terrell, TX, up until 1984, when she obtained her realtor’s license. Charla then worked as an agent with Century 21 Mike Bowman until 1986. In 1988, Charla married her lifelong companion and moved to Ozona, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess C. Marley of Ozona, TX; father, Charlie F. Wooten Sr. of North Richland Hills, TX; and brother, Charles T. (Buck) Wooten of Granbury, TX. Charla is survived by her mother, Ann Wooten Smith, Granbury, TX; sister, Cynthia Wooten Sheffield and husband John, Pooleville,TX; brother, Mike Wooten and wife Susan, Granbury, TX; brother, Charlie F. Wooten Jr., College Station, TX; nephew, Christopher Cook, Esq. and wife Adrianne Cook, Esq., Loudon Co., VA; nephew, Bryan Wooten and wife Caitlin, Granbury, TX; nephew, Blake Wooten, Granbury, TX; niece, Bree Wooten, Santa Fe, NM; niece, Sara Cook, Loudon Co., VA; and three cousins, Terry, Tommy, and Tracy Wooten, Denton, TX.; and longtime companion Mike Hill.

Internment and graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Walling Cemetery in Cooke Co., TX.
