Charlene Coplin Case Winblood, 94, of Ft. Worth passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018.

On December 11, 1923 in Pike County, Arkansas, Charlene Coplin was born to the late W.C. (Carlos) and Ovie M. Ward Coplin. At age thirteen, Charlene accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized “in the creek.” She finished high school in Nashville, Arkansas in 1942.
Due to the death of her oldest brother Carl, killed in the Battle of the Coral Sea at the beginning of World War II, she and her father chose to become involved in the war effort; working for a time at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Charlene then continued her efforts of support at Convair in San Diego, California. During this time, she met and married Richard C. Case, a Marine Pilot. They became parents to Edythe (“Edie”) Charlene and Richard C., Jr.
In 1967, she married Marshall A. Winblood of Fort Worth, Texas. Before retiring, Marshall was employed at General Dynamics. After retirement, Charlene and Marshall farmed in Wayside, Texas for a few years; then lived in Ardmore, Oklahoma (Marshall’s hometown) before returning to Texas to build a home in Weatherford.
Prior to moving to Fort Worth, Charlene worked as a Volunteer Ombudsman for the State of Texas. She was a “Pink Lady” Volunteer for Campbell Hospital, and was a Stephen Minister in her church.
She was a member of Legacy Baptist Church of Fort Worth.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard, Sr. and Marshall; and six siblings, Irma Ruth, Carl, Kenneth, Dean, Buck, and Glen Coplin.
Charlene is survived by: her daughter Edie Peplinski and husband, Frank of Fort Worth; her son, Richard Case and Wendy of Weatherford; two granddaughters, Melissa Anne Moudy and husband, Steve of Dallas; Amanda Beth Weidler and husband, Shannon of Weatherford; three great-granddaughters, Paige Alexandra Moudy, Erin Elizabeth Moudy, and Michaela Sky Weidler; three great-grandsons, Evan Patrick Moudy, Ian Michael Moudy, and Storm Michael Weidler; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A special expression of gratitude to those who helped, lovingly and tirelessly, long-term, to make Charlene’s final journey one of peace and comfort: Frank, Barbara, Wendy and Dr. Mott, Liz, Karen, and Fire Station 13.
