Charles Ray Heathington, 83, a Granbury, Texas resident for his entire life, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

Charles was born on July 5, 1934 to Columbus and May Heathington. Charles knew everyone in town and was a simple person. He enjoyed helping his brother, Archie, with coaching little league ball. He managed his brother’s farm and was known as a Cattle Hauler. He loved to tinker on the farm and hanging out at Bond’s Feed Store. Charles enjoyed drinking coffee and talking to his friends. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion, Post 278. He never cared much about money and believed in simple things. Charles will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Archie.

He is survived by his friend Mark Sledge who was like a son to him and Mark’s wife Susan and his 2 grandchildren Evan and Sarah.
