Christi Browne Matthews, age 55, passed on July 23rd, 2020, in Granbury, Tx.
Christi is survived by her husband, Curt Matthews, of 35 years; her son, Cory and wife Amanda Matthews; her daughter, Catherine and husband Tyler Ross; her stepson, Jim and wife Kristin Campbell; and three grandchildren Ethan Campbell, Aiden Campbell and Sterling Ross; her parents James and Minnie Browne; her brother Jim and wife Lisa Browne; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Christi was born on August 14th, 1964 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents James and Minnie Browne. She graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Tx. She then went on to attend Hardin Simmons University. Christi was a long-time resident of Hood County, Tx.
Christi was a caring, loving, and nurturing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and “Nonni” (grandmother). Christi was a constant supporter and “cheerleader” for her entire family. She was well respected by her employers and co-workers. Christi had many fulfilling friendships throughout her life.
Christi was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in her community. Her passion was ministering to children while volunteering with the Miracle League of Granbury, Tx. She enjoyed being with her family, watching her kids play sports, and loving on her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a beautiful, greatly beloved person.
A memorial celebration service is scheduled for Monday, July 27th, at 2 in the afternoon; Acton Baptist Church. Her father, Dr. James Browne, will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Christi’s life. Flowers can be sent to Martin’s Funeral Home in Granbury, Tx.
