Chrystelle Massey (Perry) McManus went to her eternal home on October 9, 2019. Chrystelle was born April 22, 1925 to J.W. (Jim) Massey and Elva Johnson Massey in Acton, Texas. She owned a grocery store in Acton, and she worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses.
Chrystelle is survived by her second husband Gene McManus, her son Michael Perry and wife, Glynda, grandsons, Si Perry and family, and Seth Perry and family, Gene’s daughters Darlene Herron and husband Gary, Debbie Booker and husband Tommy and Jeanie McCoy, one brother-in-law Harold Southerland, four nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Talmadge Perry, her parents, brother Z. W. Massey and wife Ruth, sisters Eunice Sharp and husband Lloyd, Orene Price and husband Forres and La Nell Southerland, and one nephew, Larry Southerland.
The family wants to thank her care givers, Sharon Wilson and Melanie Higgins, and the home health staff at Encompass and Interim Hospice for their thoughtful and compassionate care.
Also, we want to thank Darlene and Gary, neighbors Chris, Kim and Brianna and the Lipan VFD for being there in times of need. Thanks to all her friends for their kindness expressed through visits and providing meals.
