Clarence “Jerry” Gerald Rakestraw

Clarence Gerald “Jerry” Rakestraw, 67, of Granbury, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
Jerry was born on February 6, 1953 in Guam to Samuel and Estella Rakestraw. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1974 until 1994, retiring with the rank of E7, Chief.
Jerry received his associate degree from Weatherford College and was a member of the Catholic Church.
Jerry loved spending time outdoors, especially if he was fishing or camping. He was a great all-around cook and chili was his specialty. He enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts and was an excellent woodworker. He was an accomplished singer and musician who enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica.
Jerry played basketball for the Granbury’s Men’s League from 2003 – 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Patsy.
Jerry is survived by his children: Colin Rakestraw, Samuel Rakestraw, Dianne Reiling and husband Geoffrey, Catherine Schea and husband Craig, and Kristen Berry and husband Blake, and ten grandchildren.
Jerry was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
