GRANBURY — Cleo Calvert Carroll, also known as “CC”, “Buddy”, “Daddy Pop”, “Pop”, and just “Pops”, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, age 103, at Granbury Care Center.
Funeral: The “Celebration of Life” service officiated by Rev. Alton Byrd, Pastor of Frisco Liberty Baptist Church and assisted by Rev. Christian Harris of Granbury will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Wiley Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers during the services are John Carroll, Chad Carroll, Ronnie Vice, Randy Carroll, Bubba Davis and Scott Bratcher. Burial: 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Little Elm Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances during visitation to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Cleo was born Sept. 19, 1908, in Milford, Texas, to Robert Lee Carroll and Monnie Martha Baily Carroll. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Because this very special man was blessed with warmth, wisdom, kindness, and courtesy, he was loved by everyone.
His life’s work included Pure Oil Company, Humble Oil Company, North Texas Tank Company, American Tank and Manufacturing and Trinity Industries of Dallas, retiring from Trinity in 1975, then becoming re-employed as a traveling consultant and finally fully retiring in 1982.
Cleo was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas. He was also a 50-year member of the Stanfield Masonic Lodge #217 in Denton. A few years after his life mate passed, Cleo began traveling in his motor home. Later, he settled into a Park Model on Brazos Harbor Court in Granbury where he made many friends who love him very much.
In October, 2008, the family selected Granbury Care Center where Cleo has lived his remaining December years. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for all the care and concern provided by the entire staff of Granbury Care Center and it’s caregivers, RNs, LVN, CNAs, as well as to those friends acquired during the past 3 years. His parents, his wife, Martha Pearl Boyd Carroll, as well as his two brothers and one sister precede him in death.
Survivors: Still remaining to cherish his memories are four children: daughters, Anita Case Partin of Irving, Delores Jean Cox of Wildwood, Mo.; sons, Robert Lee Carroll and Eddie Joe Carroll, both of Granbury; son-in-law, Randall Cox of Wildwood, Mo.; daughters-in-law, Cherry Carroll and Traci Carroll, both of Granbury; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; family members and many friends.
