Clinton Leon Joplin, 82, passed away April 28, 2022
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Ryan Cemetery, Ryan, Oklahoma.
Visitation: 6 to 8 pm. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Biggers Funeral Home.
Mr. Joplin was born November 5, 1939 in Brownfield, Terry County, Texas. Leon, as most people knew him was a life-long musician, motorcyclist, bluegrass radio announcer, and a 23-year machinist for Bell Helicopter. He was a dedicated husband and father. He had committed 50+ years to preaching and leading singing in his church where he was an Elder. Through the years, he had taught music to many, and had been a musician for many bands, including, Honey Creek Highway (a family band), The Country Kings, Lonesome Prairie Bluegrass, New Bluegrass Combination, Quality Time Bluegrass, Paluxy Pickers, Top Shelf Bluegrass, and several more.
He was preceded in death by his prior wife of 58 years, Barbara Joplin.
Survivors: His wife, Lois Joplin; her four children and their families; daughters, Peggy Hice and husband, Ron, Patty White and husband, Mark, Kimmie Kipp and husband, Donny; son, Clinton Joplin Jr. and wife, Carol; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
