Connis Loveda Swaim passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. Graveside service: 11:00 AM, Monday, May 20, 2019, Nancy Smith Cemetery.
Loveda was born on February 20, 1922 to Alex and Autie Phipps. In her earlier years, she lived and attended school in Tolar, Texas. She loved Texas and after building a future in Arizona and Oregon returned to spend her final years in Texas where her grandparents homesteaded. The Phipps settled in Bosque County in 1873.
Loveda was a loving mother. She loved to learn and took classes from a center to stay ahead of her children’s learning. She was a Cub Scout Leader. She was an excellent seamstress and she made clothes that were magnificent. She was a taxi driver and warned family to slow down and not use their brakes so they wouldn’t wear them out.
Loveda was preceded in death by her husband Horace Wayman Swaim, daughters: Velda Jean Swaim VomBaur and Betty Ann Holland, and grandson: Gerald J. VomBaur.
Loveda is survived by her son: Tom Swaim, grandchildren: Venita Glenn, Tawnie VomBaur, Curt VomBaur, Celene Admire, Carmen Admire, Cheryl Swaim, and Crysta Swaim, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
