GRANBURY — Curtis Kelley, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Granbury.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Granbury First United Methodist Church. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mr. Kelley was born Mar. 23, 1923, in Bluff Dale, to William Henry Kelley and Mina Jones Kelley. He married Gladys LaVerne Florence, July 7, 1942, in Fort Worth. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War Two and worked for General Dynamics for 35 years. He had been a resident of Granbury since 1954 and built the first car wash in Granbury on Morgan Street. He was very active in his church and was a member of the Granbury Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Kelley was a two term City Councilman for the City of Granbury. He loved traveling with LaVerne after retirement. She preceded him in death in 2010.
Survivors: Sons, Don Kelley and wife, Idis, Tony Kelley, all of Granbury; granddaughters, Donann Kelley, Kristin Kelley Gomez and husband, Joaquin, Amy Woodard, Melissa Stuard and husband, Curtis, Kristi Ortiz and husband, Markus, Laura Davis and husband, Kim; grandson, Mark Chandler and wife, Danielle; 10 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Juanita Florence of Midland.
