D. W. (Walter) Weed passed away March 27, 2016 at the age of 93.
Walter was born in Buffalo New York, June 22, 1922 and has resided in the Fort Worth area since 1953.
Memorial services are April 9th 2016 at 2:00 PM at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice or to the American Cancer Society.
Walter served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific and China. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Society of Manufacturing and Tool Engineers and the Carbide Engineers. He was president for 8 years of the Menasco Credit Union and served on the board of directors at both the Glen Rose Garden Country Club in Fort Worth and the Granbury Country Club in Granbury.
Walter retired from Menasco in 1987 and he and his wife Margaret moved to DeCordova Bend Estates in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret in 2009, his parents, brother, sister and by his granddaughter Kayla in February 2016.
He is survived by his son Dr. Roger M. Weed and wife Mary of San Antonio, Dr. James M. Smith and his wife Kay of Houston, Texas, one granddaughter, two step grandsons and two great grandsons as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
