Danny Ray “DR” Hunnicutt, 67, after a lengthy illness went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2015.

A Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, 800 W. Magnolia, Fort Worth, Texas 76104.

Danny Ray Hunnicutt was born in Fort Worth on September 4, 1947, and was a lifelong area resident. He was the first son of three children born to Frank and Jane Hunnicutt. Danny graduated from Richland Senior High School.

He served 12 years with the Fort Worth Police Department and over 30 years with Fort Worth Motor Escort Service.

DR was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Ellen Hunnicutt; father, Frank Hunnicutt; brother, David Frank Hunnicutt; son, Troy Frank Hunnicutt; and stepson, Jeffrey Wayne Elliott.

He is survived by: his wife of 21 years, Susan Hunnicutt; grandsons, Darrion Ray Hunnicutt and Samuel Blake Elliott; sister, Linda Kaye Gwinn-Hunnicutt; and niece, Rhonda Lea Loboda.

I first met Danny in shop at Stripling Jr. Hi., man o man did we have a Grandtime. I would always see him around and talk shop over the years. I will miss him on his bike at funerals, he would not want anyone sad over his passing but for now it's OK. I pray for peace in the hearts of his loved ones. Bill Gunn
