David Hawkins, 69, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in Granbury. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
David was born July 30, 1948 in Clovis, NM to W.C. and Lola Williamson Hawkins. He was a graduate of Coronado High School in Lubbock, earned a BBA from Texas Tech and a master’s in education from the University of Houston. He served in the U.S. Army, was employed by Cameron Iron, N.L. Shaffer Oil and Gas and owned his own printing business. David was a skilled photographer who exhibited his work in Paris and was a registered American silversmith who designed jewelry, particularly of Indian design. He married Kathy Fredenburg April 12, 2017 in Granbury.
Survivors: Wife, Kathy Hawkins of Granbury; daughters, Amanda Bond and grandson, Garrett Bond of Fort Worth and Liana Burks of Idaho; mother, Lola Grace Elliott of Granbury; sister, Elizabeth Carter of Granbury; brothers, Ken Hawkins and wife Linda of San Antonio and Tom Hawkins and wife Marium of Houston; several nieces and nephews; step brothers, Harold and Phillip; and step sister, Mary Jane.
