David O’Neal Ford, 86, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 17 in Biggers Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 4 to 7
p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Committal: 3:00 p.m. at Humbolt Cemetery in Hunt County, Texas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Assemblies of God World Missions, Account number 267774. He was very proud of the HIV and anti-prostitution work in Argentina and wanted to help that continue.
David O’Neal Ford was born May 26, 1926, in Hunt County to David Franklin and Teresa Ford. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Elizabeth Sanders Ford, who went home to be with Jesus July 19, 1998. After Mary Elizabeth’s death, he married Marlene Nabors. Marlene has five children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David was an Army veteran of World War II. After his discharge, he moved to Lake Worth where owned Ford’s Barber Shop for more than 30 years.
David taught his family to love Jesus which is the most important aspect to life. He taught us how to live and die well.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
He is survived by: his only child, Gelena Wilson and his son, Bobby Wilson; his grandchildren, Brandy Marie Wilson, an Assembly of God Foreign Missionary to Argentina, Bradford Doyle and Jayme Bryant Wilson, childrens’ authors of “Adventures of the Bear.com,” Bobbie Jalene “BJ” and Nathan Aller, both paramedics; sister, Edna Jo Dawson and her daughters, Cheryll and Mary, who loved their Uncle David; and many nieces and nephews.
