Delma Madrid Gonzales

Delma Madrid Gonzales, age 76 of Granbury Texas, passed away Saturday October 19, 2019.  Mass:  11:00 A.M. Thursday October 24, 2019, St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church; Visitation with Rosary:  6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday October 23, 2019 Martin’s Funeral Home; Interment:  Acton Cemetery.

Delma was born on August 11, 1943 to Petra and Marciano Madrid. She grew up in West Texas, Midland, Colorado City and Lorraine. Delma graduated from Colorado City High School then went on to Sweetwater Nursing School in Sweetwater, TX and received her LVN License and obtained a Surgical Certificate from Baylor Medical Center.  She was a scrub nurse and worked long hours for the care of others. Delma retired as an LVN nurse.

Delma married the love of her life, Ricardo Gonzales on October 22, 1966.  They were married for 53 years.  She loved to travel and experience the world with her husband, friends and family. She loved her home and 11 acres, called Rancho Gonzales in Granbury.

She was a devoted member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. She volunteered with Hood County Meals on Wheels. A brief member of Lake Granbury Master Gardeners and belonged to the Senior Circle in Granbury. Delma was preceded in death by her mother and father, Petra and Marciano Madrid.

She is survived by her husband: Richard Gonzales; children:  Paul Frederick Gonzales and DeAnna Gonzales*; her one granddaughter: MaLéna Ramirez, whom she loved so much; siblings: Louisa Diaz, Elias Heredia, Mary Bustillos, Filipe Heredia, Pascual Madrid, Lupe Madrid, Emma Madrid, Benito Madrid and Adan Madrid.
