Dimitri F. Ninich

GRANBURY — Dimitri F. Ninich, 91, born in Dallas on April 12, 1921. His family owned the first
confectionery store in Dallas. “The D&N” was located in downtown near NM &
was one of the most popular stops for hand dipped chocolates & ice cream.
He was in the U.S. Navy from 1941 to 1948 & served on the USS Brinkley Bass. He
then married Almeda Green and went to work for Metzger Milk Company until
1959 when he was employed by Braniff Airways until his retirement in 1986.
He was the kindest, most gentle & humble soul who never met a stranger and was
always true to his faith and family. He and his great sense of humor will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Almeda in 2006.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James H. and Christine Ninich of Garland;
two daughters, Dimiti Benedetto of Orlando, Fl. and Sherrylynn Donaldson of
Granbury; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
