GRANBURY — Don Hinkle, 77, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, in Granbury.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb, 21, 2015, at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Memorials: Make A Wish Foundation or Pecan Plantation EMS.
Don was born Mar. 18, 1937, in Tokio, Texas, to Andy Elbert Hinkle and Susan Vicie Donaghe Hinkle. He married Patricia Barson, Apr. 27, 1957, in Banbury, England. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and later from Plains, Texas ISD. Don loved golf and was a member of the Pecan Plantation Men’s Golf Association. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Plains, Texas. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association. He enjoyed coin collecting but most important were his love of family and caring for his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Elbert Hugh Hinkle, sons, Russell Hinkle, Michael Hinkle, and grandson, Elijah Hinkle.
Survivors: Wife, Pat Hinkle; son, R.J. Hinkle and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Austin Hinkle, Katy Hinkle; sisters, Lucile Kirkland, Faye Nelms, Ruth Murphree and husband, Larry; sister-in-law, Rheda Hinkle; and extended family.
