GRANBURY — Don Steele, 78, departed for his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in Granbury.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury.
Memorials: Pecan Plantation Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMS, 9518 Monticello Drive, Granbury, Texas 76049.
Don was born Apr. 13, 1937, in Comanche, Texas, to Floyd and Bessie Burks Steele. He married Carolyn Sue Bear, Apr. 5, 1957, in Comanche. He worked in the engineering department for the Texas Highway Department in Abilene, Texas for 36 years. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church. Don enjoyed music, playing bridge, the outdoors, traveling and his homes in Breckenridge, Colorado and Pecan Plantation. He loved being with his family and following the grandchildren in all their activities. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Steele; children, Kim Laing and husband, Graham, Kevin Steele; grandchildren, Garrett Laing,
Chloe Laing.
