Donald (Don) Wayne Case, 82, passed away on Wednesday; August 12, 2020 in Midlothian, Texas where he was a current resident.
He was born June 24, 1938 in San Antonio, TX. to James and Marion Mosley Case and spent most of his life in Texas.
When Don was nine years old, his mom, his brother, his sister and he were on the first boatload of dependents to cross the Pacific after World War II. They lived in the Philippines for three years.
They returned to live in Fort Meyer, Virginia, across the river from Washington, DC. His father died while they were there and he is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery. They then returned to Texas where he attended high school in Alpine and Stephenville, TX.
Don spent four years in the United States Air Force and afterwards attended night school at TCU for three years. He spent about 15 years working as a salesman for several wholesale food companies, Foremost Dairies, Proctor & Gamble, Armour Dial, Borden Milk and Frito Lay Company. Don also worked for Cabot Corporation where he took early retirement in 1990 to enter the ministry.
Don married Mary Lynn Stephens on January 1, 1972 in Pampa, Texas. He served as Administrative Pastor with Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa, TX. for nine years. In 1998, they moved to Azle, Texas where he was on staff with Son Shine Ministries International for two years. He then retired again and they moved to Granbury and built a home in Pecan Plantation. They were members of the Agape Sunday School Class of Lakeside Baptist Church. Don was chaplain for the Estates at Granbury Retirement Center.
Don is survived by his wife of (48) years, Mary Lynn Case; sons Mark S. Case and his wife Grace, Darwyn Case and Gary Case, brother Mike Case and sisters Cindy Stewart and Melissa Graser, grandson Brandon Hastings and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Joe Schumaker, sister Carol Harlow, step sisters Dorothy Pearce and Francis Strickland and his daughter Beth Case Reckahn.
