GRANBURY — Donald Eugene “Don” Geller, was granted his silver wings on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at Wiley Funeral Home.
Burial: 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Don was born Dec. 27, 1930, in Bristow, Okla., to Clarence and Pearl Morgan Geller. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a demolition specialist in the 61st Engineer Construction Battalion. He received several awards and commendations for his service including the Presidential Unit Citation. On June 26, 1970, he was united in a 44 year marriage with the love of his life, Dolores Smith, in Fort Worth. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Deanna Leach, brothers, Virgil, Clarence Jr. “Tex”; sisters Thelma Geller, Margerie Stubblefield and Betty Baker.
Don was a proud member of Teamsters Local 745. He served as Union Steward until his retirement in 1995 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music and singing. His children and grandchildren were the pride and love of his life.
Survivors: Wife of 44 years, Dolores; sons, Doy Geller and wife, Beverly, Daryl Geller and wife, Sue Beth, Billy Geller and wife, Mary Joy, Randy McCormick and wife, Jolynn; daughters, Donna Geller, Lou Ann Turner and husband, Steve, Cheryl Ludiker and husband, Les, Sherry Geller-Jones; 27 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Omer Geller.
