Dorothy “Dede” Martin

Dorothy “Dede” Martin, 95, of Granbury, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019.  Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, July 19, 2019, First Christian Church, Granbury. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth.

Dede was born on August 2, 1923 in England to Samuel and Emma Meen.  She married John Martin on September 16, 1944 in England.  She moved to the United States with her husband after World War II.   She was the founding member of the local chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire.  She was a member of many different clubs and associations.

Dede loved God, family, reading, traveling, flowers and hand crafts.  She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother.  Dede was loved by all who knew her and made many dear friends throughout her life.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years: John Martin, her parents and her siblings.

Dede is survived by her children: Stephen Richard Martin and wife Coleen, Libby Lanzara and husband Fravel, and David Ronald Martin and wife Kimi, grandchildren: Cassandra Martin, Greyson Martin, Jeffrey  Lanzara and wife Alatha, Jason  Lanzara and wife Chanel,  Jenna Mullen and husband Chris, Erica Ricks and husband Spencer, Andrea Wyss and husband Chris, Diana Larsen and husband Duncan, Garrett Martin, Alyssa Martin and Emma Martin, great-grandchildren: Matthew, Deborah, Tripp, Parker, Landon, Mary Claire, Hannah, Esther, Lulu, Cora and Lucy,  cousin: Jack Marler, step granddaughter: Melissa McHaney, and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
