Doyle D. Ogden, 80, a retired U.S. Air Force major, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at his home.
Committal services with military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
Mr. Ogden was born in Logan, New Mexico, on August 24, 1932, to Chester and Medah Hutchisson Ogden, and lived in Fort Sumner for many years. He attended Eastern New Mexico University where he played football on a full scholarship. In 1954 he completed the Air Force Aviation Cadet Program and served for 20 years as a navigator and pilot flying the C-130 Hercules aircraft on over 500 sorties in Vietnam, and the C-141 Starlifter on various missions around the world.
He is survived by his wife, Theo Smith Ogden; his children, Keith and wife, Mona, of Sausalito, California, Joanne and Mark of Dallas, and Susan and John McDonald of Evergreen, Colorado; grandchildren, Mark and Theresa Ogden, Anna, Kate and Maggie McDonald, and Theo’s children, Candy, Roxanna, Neil and Suzie; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Rob, Neil III, Chrissie, Frank and Merideth; siblings, Christine and Moreland Martin, Frances and Jim McGraw, Melva and Hubert Marshall, Cynthia and John Van Auken, Sammye and Royce Ogden; and many nieces and nephews.
