Dr. Allen “Sammy” Conner Roach Jr. passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his home in Azle at the age of 72. He fought a long battle with lymphoma.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glen Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Reel Recovery, a national 501c non-profit organization conducting free fly fishing retreats for men coping with cancer. More information at www. reelrecovery.org.
Sammy was born March 30, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas, to Allen and Christine Roach. He graduated from Birdville High School in 1961 in Haltom City. He went on to graduate from Baylor Dental College in 1968 and practiced dentistry for 40 years in Haltom City, retiring five years ago. He then went on to open a charity dental clinic in North Richland Hills, which he managed until his health declined last summer.
Dr. Roach was predeceased by his father, Allen Roach Sr.
Dr. Roach is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Pamela Bryson Roach; he is remembered by his daughter, Julie Staley, her husband, Jason Staley, and their children Jake, Colton, Kate and Luke; he is also remembered by his daughter, Lori Buchwald, her husband, Gred Buchwald, and their son, William. He is also survived by his mother, Christine Roach; sisters, Pam Cash and Susan Roach; niece, Tiffany Tidwell Silvey and her husband Matt and their children, Megan and Jackson.
