Durward Kenneth Chambers, a resident of Parker County for over 30 years, died Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Glen Rose.
Service: 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church, 3196 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Committal: 2:30 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or a charity of choice.
Durward Kenneth Chambers was born March 25, 1924, in Blooming Grove, to Virlon Chambers and Eppie Ann McGovern Chambers.
He was a World War II veteran and retired from Merchants Fast Motor Lines where he had worked for over 30 years, and was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Weatherford.
He was a former resident of the Cove at Waterview in Granbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Buford Chambers; sisters, Novaline Thomas and Joy Farris; a niece; and two nephews.
He is survived by: His wife of 71 years, Mable L. Chambers; daughter, Cherry Redwine and husband, James; granddaughters, Brenda Wood and husband, Ross, Darbi Johnson and husband, Mike, Karen Myers and husband, Allen, Kim Cornett and husband, Cameron; grandsons, Kelby Hubbard and wife, Leah, Robert Hubbard and wife, Dawnia; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
